The voluntary committee has worked tirelessly trying to organise an event that has something for everyone to enjoy. Saturday 8th we open with The Model’s carnival performance in conjunction with the South Sligo No Name Club. Followed by street theatre, Irish dancing, fancy dress party and fire performance act by Inferno. Sunday 9th we are delighted to have Surlis’s SuperValu return to sponsor our Family Fun Day with two marquees full of free entertainment from face painting, crafts to workshops. In addition to various games, street races, activities, our very popular Wheelbarrow Grandprix and Dog Show. The highlight of the day, Mattie Griffin Super Stunt Bike official BMW rider. Monday 10th, the Family Resource Centre hosts Kids Zone and on Tuesday 11th, enjoy a matinee followed by a local family treasure hunt. Wednesday 12th, we present our Old Fair Day, the culmination of a lot of hard work. Where people will get the chance to experience the sights and sounds of fair days gone in our crafts and heritage village, artisan food and bread displays, children’s fun zones and enjoy live demonstrations from spinning, weaving, basket making to thatching and trashing. We are delighted the Defence Forces have kindly agreed to return again this year to bring a display of military vehicles, armoury which we are sure will enhance our ever popular vintage collection of tractors, cars, machinery and our First War World I display. As always thanks to the local farmers who bring their prize winning cattle, sheep, pigs and various other animals for our visitors to view. There will also be over a hundred exhibitors dotted throughout the town and we are delighted to have the hugely popular Lisa McHugh and her band provide live music proceeded by Everyday Solution. We are also delighted with the return of Ocean FM for their live outside broadcast.”
A fun filled festival awaits you in Tubbercurry, in addition Murray’s funfair, which is open nightly. We are proud to present our fair as a festival where old and new friends alike can meet and savour the hospitality our town offers.
